The 2009 County Championships ran in three sections: Open, Challengers (Under 160) and Minor (Under 120).  (The Intermediate (Under 140) section was been merged with the Challengers.)

Each section was run as a 6-round Swiss tournament, with matches played at The Heathcote Arms, Croft.
